Our Club History

A Proud North Enfield Tradition

North Enfield Social Club has a long history at 278 Baker Street. The Club was founded in 1910, building a tradition of friendship, social activity and community life that has continued for more than a century.

Past, Present & Future

The Story of the Club

The Club was founded in 1910 and has been affiliated with the Association of Conservative Clubs since its early days. Its home is The Rosary at 278 Baker Street, a building whose history stretches back well before the Club itself.

The Rosary was built in 1763 and was leased to the Club in 1910. The Club was formed by a group of local businessmen led by Colonel Henry Ferryman Bowles of Forty Hall.

Over the decades the premises developed alongside the Club. New facilities were added as membership and activities grew, creating the social spaces that generations of members have enjoyed.

Today the Club continues that long tradition as North Enfield Social Club, bringing people together for entertainment, social occasions, events and community life while recognising the history of the building and the Club that has called it home since 1910.
